Ever been stumped by how to write a word, simply because there are two letters in it that you just don't know how to connect?

Or maybe you're rocking your individual letters but need a refresher on how to get seamless, consistent spacing.

This workshop covers content that we've only shared in our advanced lettering courses on letter connections, plus new strategies that we've developed.

In this workshop, you will:

  • Learn the 4 exit stroke and 5 entrance stroke types
  • Categorize all lowercase letters (including variations) by their types
  • Understand how to connect each exit stroke to each entrance stroke
  • Learn our advanced, "core letter" connection method (never been shared before)
  • Write some example words, including ones with tricky connections
  • Learn how to write the infamous word that the top calligraphers use to practice
  • Receive some super helpful mindset tricks to remember

You'll get a workbook to follow along with the workshop, plus a cheat sheet that you can print and reference any time you're connecting letters (especially those tricky ones!).

How long do I have access to the course?
How does lifetime access sound? You have unlimited access to this course for as long as you like - across any and all devices you own.
Who is this workshop for?
The workshop was designed for beginner letterers just starting out. We'll cover the basics plus some in-depth topics on letter connections. It would also be great for intermediate letterers who have struggled with connecting letters and could benefit from another perspective.
Who is this workshop NOT for?
The content of this workshop is very similar to the connections module included in our larger courses (Brush Lettering Bootcamp and Calligraphy On Point) -- in fact, it's the first time we're sharing this information outside of these courses! Students of BLB and C.O.P. will already be familiar with what we're teaching. Since this is an introductory workshop, it's also NOT for advanced or professional calligraphers who have no trouble with the theory or execution of connecting letters. You're definitely welcome to attend if you fall into these categories, but please be aware that you may already know the content being covered.
Is the workshop for for modern calligraphy styles or classic Copperplate?
The workshop is going to be based on Copperplate letterforms. We'll show a few alternates that are more modern. It's very important to have a solid foundation of letter connections for any type of calligraphy, so it's less about style and more about the foundations.
