Display Your Work

It's easy to print your iPad Spencerian work. Crop your design down to size and export it as a PDF. You can even print on different colors of paper for an interesting touch, especially if you don't have a color printer.

Holding your digital artwork in your hands is truly satisfying. Once it's printed, you can frame and proudly display your hard work or even gift it to friends.

We've heard whispers that there's a stigma about using an iPad for calligraphy. And we get it.

It's very difficult to work with traditional calligraphy tools like nibs and ink due to the learning curve and messiness.

That's exactly why we love using the iPad: it's more approachable.

And you can take advantage of some digital "shortcuts" to make it even easier to learn.

Of course, the Apple Pencil poses unique challenges that pen and ink users don't have to deal with, such as the extreme sensitivity and the lack of friction on your writing surface.

But don't worry, we'll show you how to overcome those unique challenges.

You'll be creating gorgeous digital work before you know it.

Hi, I'm Jordan!

The first time I heard about Spencerian was in 2016 when I discovered some gorgeous videos on Instagram.

Since then, I've quietly practiced in the background, building up my knowledge and portfolio on my Instagram: @jordan.spencerian

I am thrilled to finally offer this course ✨

Here are some examples of what you can do with iPad Spencerian...

No iPad Experience? No Problem.

We explain every single step to make sure you don't feel lost. Take it from students from our Procreate Lettering Projects course:

"Even if the projects look intimidating, how they are broken down and each step is explained clearly and is very easy to follow. Anyone can do it!" - Lauren

"I've learned so many tips and tricks to elevate my Procreate lettering skills. I'm so happy with the finished products, and I can't wait to apply the techniques I learned to other projects. Jillian and Jordan have definitely made me feel more confident!" - Renee

"Instructions are clear and I appreciate the fact that you have mistakes “built in” to illustrate what to do or why something isn’t working." - Angela

"I'm proud of the projects I was able to create and thrilled to learn how to use the Procreate app. Having an instructor made all the difference!" - Mary

While this is the first ever time we're offering iPad Spencerian, here's what past students say about our teaching style:

"Wow! Everything turns out to be so simple and natural when it is explained so clearly. You are great at teaching!" - Giulia

"I very much like your teaching style which is very well explained and fun to follow." - Christel

“I started my journey as a hobby, never did I realize that this hobby would become a skill that I can be proud of and can use to make so many people happy. Jillian and Jordan's style of teaching is like no other.

I love how in depth they go with their explanations and their critiques and they make me feel like I'm doing a great job (even when my writing was messy).

The community also helped me so much when I was just starting out. I never felt ashamed sharing my initial work. There's a great support system in this community for sure!” - Romalyn

Q: Why should I learn iPad Spencerian?

There are lots of reasons you may want to learn iPad Spencerian...

  • Challenge your brain to do something new
  • Spencerian is more delicate than other forms of lettering
  • Learn alongside a community of like minded people
  • Relax and give yourself some well-deserved me time
  • Digitized Spencerian can easily be printed, even on products like mugs or shirts. When you write on an iPad, it's already digitized; no need to scan it in or learn Photoshop!

Fun Fact: Some of these reasons were taken directly from what students of the new course (your future classmates) have said.

Q: Why would I want to learn Spencerian Script if I already know iPad lettering?

iPad lettering is often a bold, modern take on calligraphy. Spencerian is more delicate and can add a touch of elegance to your writing, making it perfect for things like formal invitations or personal notes. Plus, practicing Spencerian might actually improve your handwriting!

And if you're interested in providing calligraphy services in the future, adding another form of lettering to your skillset can help you offer more to your clients and expand your portfolio.

You could be part of a penmanship revolution.

Spencerian penmanship was originally done with a quill pen and ink. Eventually steel nibs were invented, which practitioners of the Spencerian script use today.

But with the advancements of technology, Jordan has perfected the art of Spencerian on an iPad.
